This image depicts Britannia, as well as three other famous Big Class cutters, ready to answer the starter's gun on a breezy morning in August 1893. Although Santanita was the most powerful of the yachts to race, due to her unwise decision to hoist an extra sail, she was actually beaten by the smaller Britannia on the day.
