Astra K2 was built in 1928 and Candida K8 a year later in 1929. Both yachts were built as Bermudan rig cutters to the International Rule which came into force in 1928 and they raced each other on the Big Class British regatta circuit for many years. The two yachts illustrated in this subject are sailing against strong winds off Cowes, on the Isle of Wight.
