The Year 1970 was a golden time for sports car racing with the charismatic Porsche 917's and Ferrari 512's battling it out for the manufacturers World Championship together with works teams from Alfa Romeo, Matra and Lola. The film 'Le Mans' immortalised this era with Steve McQueen not only taking the starring role but also providing it's impetus.
